For more than 10 years, New York City–based musical powerhouse Percussia has thrilled audiences with its hard-driving global rhythms. Now you can experience Percussia in an interactive program in your own school or community. Based entirely on rhythmic grooves and global sounds, Drums Around the World brings the world of music directly to you.
Percussia’s dazzling performers will take you on a multicultural musical journey with stops in Brazil, West Africa, India, Cuba, and China. Marvel at the spectacle of the instruments—a massive Chinese drum, and a beautifully carved African one—and participate in the show by clapping, singing, and even joining a Chinese Lion Dance.
What makes Drums Around the World so special is that it enriches participants’ appreciation for and understanding of different cultures.
