Dr. David Klee

David performs live background instrumental flute music. It’s perfect for corporate events, parties, community activities, and much more that require sophisticated music. His specializes in smooth jazz/easy listening music and other styles relevant for the season. The music is perfect for setting the general mood of the event without distracting from the main theme and topic of the evening.
Able to play several different instruments at the professional level (flutes, saxes, electric bass) David has toured or performed beside such musical artists/groups as RCA recording artist Razzy Baily, Alabama, Johnnie Lee Johnson (Jaimoe) of the Allman Brothers Band, Chuck Leavell (keyboards) of the Rolling Stones, The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Ringling Brothers & Barnum Baily Circus, among many others.
David recently retired (May 2022) from Buena Vista University (Iowa) as Professor of Music after teaching there for twenty years. David served as the Director of Jazz Studies/Music Production where he created and established the recording technology program. He was the principal flutist for the Fort Dodge Symphony and the Karl King Band for many years. David received his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in flute performance from the University of Georgia in 1998. In 2023, he was selected as a Nebraska Arts Council Artist-teacher where he visits schools and gives performances/clinics on flute (as well as working with the concert/jazz band programs). David’s primary flute teachers have included Miss Martha Rearick (former principal flute of the Florida Gulf Coast Symphony), Mr. Warren Little (former principal flute of the Atlanta Symphony), Dr. Constance Lane (former principal flute of the Columbia Philharmonic Orchestra), and Dr. Ronald Waln (professor of flute emeritus at the University of Georgia).
As well as performing as a smooth jazz soloist, David is available to perform in other types of venues such as orchestras, various ensembles, church events and weddings.
