Paul Klemperer has been part of the Austin, TX music scene since 1982. His saxophone style evokes blues, jazz, R&B, and much more. Paul’s mission is “building community through music,” which translates to connecting with audiences across Texas and the U.S., sharing his love of classic American roots music as well as his own compositions. Whether he performs in a small group or large ensemble format, Paul’s musical charisma and deep knowledge of American music traditions makes every performance memorable.
A regular at Antone’s nightclub in the 1980s, Paul played with blues greats Angela Strehli, W.C. Clark, Toby Anderson, to name a few. He hit the road with Marcia Ball from 1990-97, then continued touring with Seth Walker, Nick Curran and others, and has been leading his own band since 2005. He has released five albums of original songs, and produces multicultural concerts in Austin through his nonprofit Creative SEA.
Paul Klemperer Music specializes in connecting with multicultural, multigenerational audiences, making everyone feel welcome and bringing energetic, high-level musicianship to their shows.
