The Sam Burns 5tet is a group comprised of a number of the Chicago-lands greatest working musicians banded together by guitarist Sam Burns (23) to perform and create inspired improvisational music. The group has a focus on repertoire from the Hard-Bop, Post-Bop, and Fusion eras of jazz as well as sets of music centered around earlier genres such as swing and bebop. Sam is also in the process of bringing original music to the group.
