While James honed his many position blues harp style, raw tone and vocal stylings from Boston to his Chicago home, Marvelous Marcus Giddings combined early jazz stylings and comping of jump blues guitar earning the respect of Michigan’s blues scene. All of this is driven home by the thump of Mike Sanger’s folksy doghouse bass and the high-gear jazz sensibilities of Dan Mish’s groove regulation on drums.
