Mick Dunlavey Traditional Irish Music
As an Irish Ballad singer and traditional Irish musician, I sing many of the traditional Irish Pub Songs and Sea Shanties made famous by the Clancy Brothers, Irish Rovers and The Dubliners such as Black Velvet Band, Wild Rover, Whiskey in the Jar and many more. I also perform traditional session tunes made famous by such bands as The Chieftains and Planxty like O'Sullivans March and The Kesh Jig.
Growing up in a large Irish family, I share Irish history, stories, wit, and prose as part of my performance. Love songs and laments for those special occasions such as weddings and wakes complete the repetoire, with such songs as Danny Boy and Red is the Rose, not to mention Celtic Christmas tunes for the holidays.
My instruments range from the guitar, six string banjo, Irish drum (Bodhran), Penny Whislte and Uilleann Pipes.
