IEB Resolution on AFM Entertainment

WHEREAS, the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (the "Federation") has as its purpose the general protection and advancement of the interests of its members, and
WHEREAS, the Federation has as its purpose the enforcement of good faith, fair dealing, and proper business procedure among members and among those who seek to engage them, and
WHEREAS the Federation, in accordance and consistent with these purposes and obligations, wishes to establish an active online engagement booking and referral program owned and controlled by the Federation that would operate in conformity with the AFM’s Booking Agent Agreement in order that the Federation and its Locals may assist members in obtaining and establishing the terms and conditions of their employment and thereby maintain and enhance uniform wage scales as well as other working conditions, and
WHEREAS the Federation is desirous of providing these services and benefits as effectively and as efficiently as possible, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Federation shall create, implement, promote and operate an active online engagement booking and referral program which shall provide assistance to Locals and members in identifying and obtaining engagements, and in establishing the terms and conditions of those engagements, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the program be known as AFM Entertainment, and shall be governed by the approved Rules of Operation, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the program be instituted for a period of one year, effective October 31, 2011, upon expiration of which the program shall be subject to evaluation and review by the International Executive Board.
